Sharing lived experience to create more accessible, inclusive communities across regional Australia

Disability Advocate & Public Speaker

Elle speaks on accessibility, inclusion, disability, resilience, and building a meaningful life and business when things don't go to plan.

Meet Elle

Ellie Rowlands is a disability advocate, public speaker, and small business owner based in Mudgee, NSW.

As a wheelchair user living in regional Australia, Ellie understands firsthand the impact accessibility can have on a person's ability to participate in their community, access opportunities, and live independently. Her lived experience has shaped a strong passion for creating more accessible, inclusive communities where everyone feels welcome and valued.

Alongside her advocacy work, Ellie runs her own creative business, navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship while living with disability. Through both business and advocacy, she has learned that success rarely follows a straight path and that some of the most meaningful opportunities come from adapting, innovating, and finding new ways forward.

Today, Ellie shares her experiences through speaking engagements, community conversations, media appearances, and advocacy work. Her talks combine lived experience, practical insights, and honest storytelling to encourage audiences to think differently about accessibility, inclusion, resilience, and what it means to create communities that work for everyone.
